Since 1989, Alsbury Dental in Burleson, TX has been delivering beautiful smiles to patients from across South Fort Worth. All of our dentists are passionate about oral health, dental science, and quality of life for our patients.
Blake Foust, DDS
Dr. Foust earned his dental degree and implantology certificate at Loma Linda University after completing an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Southern Adventist University. He started Alsbury Dental in 1989 and in addition to general dentistry, provides patients with dental implants, a reliable and lifelike solution for replacing lost teeth. Dr. Foust holds fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Board of Implant Dentistry, where he is also a diplomate.
He has three children, two of whom are in dental school. One is a flight attendant. After hours, he volunteers with Brazos TV, a Christian television network.
In a unique experience, Dr. Foust had the privilege of traveling to Dubai to work at Messai Dental Clinic, hundreds of miles from a major city. It took two days to travel to the clinic, via a tumultuous drive through paved and dirt roads through rain and sun. The area is beautiful and peaceful. At the clinic, dentists can take x-rays and perform most procedures. Patients walk long distances to the clinic and arrive unscheduled. The doctors work until all are treated. Dr. Foust is happy to share the story of his experience with patients, so if you’re interested in learning more, please ask him at your visit.
Megan Belken, DDS
Before coming aboard the Alsbury Dental team in 2013, Dr. Belken studied at Baylor University, earning her undergraduate degree with a minor in chemistry and major in biology. She achieved her doctorate in dental science (DDS) at University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch and completed a General Practice Residency with University of Michigan.
Dr. Belken is trained in administering treatment with our soft tissue diode laser, and she also provides accelerated orthodontic therapy for adults with Six Month Smiles. Patients appreciate her gentleness and compassion, as well as her small hands, which make dental procedures comfortable. Dr. Belken enjoys helping patients achieve confidence in their appearance through dentistry, and she also likes knowing that patients feel at ease under her care. Consumer’s Research Council of America honored Dr. Belken as one of America’s Top Dentists in 2016.
When she isn’t at the office serving our patients, Dr. Belken volunteers with Tarrant Area Food Bank. She also spends quality time with her silver lab, Bagby, enjoying outdoor activities, as well as good books.
Robert L. Davis, DDS, FAGD
With a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a minor in math from Baylor University, Robert L. Davis entered Baylor College of Dentistry to earn his doctorate in dental medicine. Dr. Davis achieved honor roll status and was awarded 4th Academic Honors at Baylor College of Dentistry. He completed an AEGD Residency and then became part of our practice in 2016. Currently, the doctor holds membership in the Fort Worth District Dental Society, American Dental Academy, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Davis received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) award July 15, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV. The requirements to receive this award include 500 approved hours of continuing education (CE) courses, passing a written exam, and membership in the AGD for at least 3 yrs. Dr. Davis has accumulated 547 hours of CE including 150 hours from an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Veteran’s Affair’s Hospital in Temple, TX right after graduating dental school. He received his award in Vegas with 296 other FAGD recipients from across the nation and Canada. To view the press release, click HERE.
Dr. Davis has a personality that sets people at ease and dissolves stress. He offers our patients many services, including IV sedation for patients who feel anxious or simply dislike undergoing dental procedures. Sedation is also helpful for patient comfort during invasive or lengthy procedures.
One of the aspects of dentistry that Dr. Davis thoroughly enjoys is helping relieve pain. He understands how pain can negatively impact all aspects of life, and he respects the ability to alleviate pain through dentistry.
In his free time, Dr. Davis volunteers at extraction clinics to serve the underprivileged. He and his wife, Malorie, have one daughter, Haevyn, and a dog, Walter, who’s certainly part of the family. Dr. Davis enjoys hunting and the great outdoors, and he particularly likes participating in USPSA (shooting) competitions.
More About Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry
To earn a Fellowship Award, a dentist must earn a minimum of 500 approved continuing dental education credits and pass a comprehensive 400-question examination. The dentist is required to be an AGD member for three continuous years. While attaining Fellowship is a challenge, it allows dentists to remain current with what is new in dentistry, and to incorporate the latest research techniques into their practices.
How FAGD or MAGD Benefits Patients
Fellows and Masters of the AGD follow a lifelong pursuit of continuing education to provide the highest quality of dental care to patients. The award symbolizes the professional responsibility of general dentists to remain current in their profession and reminds each member of the dental profession to continue to learn new techniques for their dental practice. These are awards, however and should not be confused with post-graduate degrees or certification. Every dentist who applies for the Fellowship or Mastership Award has their application reviewed by the AGD Council on Dental Education to assure that the high standards of the AGD are met.
How AGD Membership Benefits Patients
When a dentist has achieved the Fellowship or Mastership Award, patients can be assured that their dentist is dedicated to providing the finest care in general dentistry. To date, more than 6451 members of the AGD have become Fellows and over 2276 have gone on to receive Mastership. The AGD is proud of all of its members who must take at least 75 hours of continuing dental education every three years, and especially proud of its members who have made the commitment to pursue these awards.
